Regional Medical Direction

As part of a grant through the Colorado EMTS, the DMEMSMD group elected to participate in the Regional Medical Direction (RMD) program by using a committee approach. Five physicians will rotate through the committee whose mission to provide recommendations on continuous quality improvement (CQI) and conduct studies that will be utilized in improving protocols and educational guidelines.
Additionally, the group has contracted a coordinator to assist in outreach with prehospital agencies and providers. While the focus is to conduct analysis and CQI activities, the coordinator also assists agencies in data collection and submission to ensure compliance and quality information.
